Make Everyone in the Family Happy this Songkran
Bangkok residents who want to make the most of the short time they have available this Songkran will undoubtedly head for resorts and beaches within driving distance of Bangkok.
They generally have two viable options, Pattaya and Hua Hin. Both of them offer kilometres of white sandy beaches and calm, warm water for swimming.
But they’re also attractive destinations for the number and variety of accommodations, restaurants, bars and other attractions they offer. After all, people on holiday want to enjoy themselves a little and not just lay on the beach.
The Best of Both Worlds
But before you resign yourself to piling the family in the car and fighting the traffic all the way and back to either of these nearby destinations, consider what may be a better option.
With a little planning, the members of the family who want to enjoy a nice peaceful holiday by the beach can be as satisfied as those who want a bit more action and color.
Both Pattaya and Hua Hin have neighboring areas that are close to their respective towns, and they have stunning beaches that may be mostly deserted this Songkran. They also have many small resorts along the beaches that would love to accommodate a family for the holidays. Possibly for much less than hotels closer to the action would charge.
Both Phala Beach and Phayun Beach are every bit as inviting as the beaches of Pattaya and Jomtien right around the corner, but they probably will be much quieter and free of revelers.
And Chaosamram Beach in Cha-am is less of a drive from Bangkok, and it’s close to all the night markets, bars and restaurants of Hua Hin.
With a little thought and planning before the holidays, everyone in the family can look forward to their Songkran getaway.
